Education and Training
Kate graduated with an honours degree from the University of Sheffield and obtained a distinction in the Legal Practice Course (LPC) from Nottingham Law School. Kate completed her training contract at a top 50 International Law Firm before joining DTM Legal over 10 years ago.

Her main areas of practice include advising individuals and office holders in both personal and corporate pre insolvency and insolvency situations. Kate has particular expertise in pursuing antecedent transaction claims brought by the office holder in both personal and corporate insolvencies.
She advises Directors on insolvency issues and liabilities brought about through wrongful or fraudulent trading. With an excellent reputation in her field, Kate has been instrumental in building and developing successful corporate recovery and insolvency departments throughout her career.

Alongside Kate’s legal work, she is also leading on DTM Legal’s ESG Strategy and has been at the forefront of the ESG journey including working to report on DTM Legal’s carbon footprint, integrating ESG throughout the firm and organising and speaking at a number of ESG focused events across the Liverpool City Region.
Kate also has particular expertise and interest in FinTech having advised in that sector for over 14 years working with FinTechs from start-up to PLC. Kate has been involved in the production of the Liverpool City Region Fintech Report and the set-up of the Liverpool Fintech Growth Group grow the Fintech ecosystem in Liverpool City Region as well as speaking on panels at a number of FinTech events in the region.
Kate has been a regular contributor to speaking events across the Liverpool City Region including speaking at ESG focused events, and Fintech North Liverpool events.

Personal Interests
Away from DTM Legal, Kate can be found keeping her two sons fed, watered and ferried between extra-curricular activities. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and reading when time allows. She is a keen cyclist and has participated in a number of charity bike rides to Paris and Amsterdam to raise both funds and awareness.
