In order to provide the highest standard of work for our clients, we recruit the best people for the job, regardless of age, gender, ethnic origin, or other similar factors.
Every two years, the Solicitors Regulation Authority (“SRA”) asks its regulated law firms to take part in a diversity survey. The following table shows the response rates of staff dependent upon their work role within our firm and the actual percentage of staff with those roles:
Roles | Actual Composition | Response Composition |
Business Services | 14.29% | 19.57% |
Support Staff (Secretarial & Assistants) | 17.46% | 21.74% |
Non-Qualified “Fee Earners” (inc. Trainees) | 12.70% | 15.22% |
Solicitors & CILEX Fellows | 31.75% | 26.09% |
Partners & Non-Solicitor Managers | 23.81% | 17.39% |
The response rates are sufficiently similar to the actual make-up of the firm, so we can be confident that no particular work role group are over- or under-represented in this survey. However, because some of these groups contain a small number of staff, we have chosen to publish our data as a whole, rather than broken down by work role, to preserve anonymity.
The data provided for the North West and England & Wales is from the 2019 data collection exercise. When the SRA’s 2021 data is published, we will update these figures. Because the answers are voluntary some response rates may not add up to 100%.
