Caroline is a Senior Associate in DTM Legal’s Commercial Property team. She has over 18 years’ experience advising on a broad range of transactional real estate matters, having spent almost a decade in private practice before moving in-house with a national housebuilder. Caroline’s experience enables her to support clients with both the technical detail of a transaction and the practical, commercial considerations that drive decision-making.
Education and Training
Caroline graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2003 with an honours degree. She remained at Liverpool University for a further two years, tutoring at the Law School, before completing her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Chester. Caroline qualified as a solicitor in 2007.
Role within DTM Legal
Caroline plays a key role within DTM Legal’s Commercial Property team, advising clients across the full lifecycle of property transactions.
Caroline has developed a wealth of experience working in Commercial Property, having previously worked at a global law firm where she acted on a wide variety of commercial real estate matters, including:
- advising pension funds, investors, educational bodies and lenders on acquisitions and disposals of industrial estates, tenanted office space, retail properties and mixed-use developments;
- acting for landlords and tenants on agreements for lease, new and renewals of leases and deeds of surrender;
- asset management work;
- corporate support work
In 2017, Caroline moved in-house to Redrow Homes, where she supported seven divisions of the business. Her work included taking affordable housing sales to Registered Providers from Heads of Terms through to exchange and plot completions, negotiating section 106 agreements with local authorities and other landowners, and advising on the acquisition of land for residential development (including option agreements and conditional contracts).
Caroline is known for tailoring her advice to the client’s specific objectives, offering solutions that are commercially focused and easy to implement.

Personal Interests
Away from work, Caroline enjoys spending time with her family, walking her gorgeous fox red labrador, going to the gym, and travelling.
