As the 2024 FinTech North Liverpool Conference marked its return, it delved into pivotal themes ranging from talent retention and funding avenues to regional innovation and inclusivity in the financial sector. Partnering with this landmark event DTM Legal, not only acted as a proud sponsor but also contributed to a panel discussion.
What is the FinTech North Conference?
FinTech North was established in 2016 with the goal of growing the FinTech ecosystem within our region. Their focus is on community building, supporting trade and improving skills through events and related activities. Pinnacle to FinTech North’s events are their conferences which provides an agenda tailored to the regions FinTech ecosystem’s specific needs.
The 2024 FinTech North Liverpool Conference was the first time the city has hosted the event since 2019 and explored the following key themes:
- Skills and Talent retention – why great careers in FinTech and Tech can be found on our doorstep
- Funding and investment – what avenues are available to Northern Founders trying to raise funds
- Regional Innovation – exploring the Liverpool ecosystem and profiling our start-ups and scale-ups
- Established FinTech and Financial Services – what are the region’s brightest and best brands working on equality, diversity and bias – female entrepreneurship and funding – financial inclusion – accessibility
The event concluded with a showcase of several of the regions FinTech’s.
DTM Legal, FinTech and the Liverpool Conference

In addition to sponsoring the event, DTM Legal’s Head of Liverpool and Partner, Kate Roberts joins a panel discussion on FinTech in Liverpool. Kate has been instrumental in leading DTM Legal’s work with the FinTech community and provided the panel with the perspective of supporting services which help the ecosystem flourish. Participating in this panel discussion was leading figures from iCede Solutions, Growth Platform and The University of Liverpool.
The LCR FinTech Growth Group
The regions FinTech report presented the FinTech community with actions to help grow the regions ecosystem and as a result The LCR FinTech Growth Group was established to deliver the actions proposed in the report.
DTM Legal is one of the founding members of the LCR FinTech Growth Group, helping to organise the regions FinTech social events and bring the community together. As such we have worked closely with FinTech North for multiple events and supporting the FinTech conference is an obvious path to support the growth of FinTech’s in the Liverpool region.
The LCR FinTech Growth Group organises the quarterly FinTech Social event in Liverpool. These events are a great opportunity to meet up with members of the FinTech community and provide an informal networking environment.
