The 5th annual Liverpool Sportswoman’s Lunch is set to take place on the 14th of September with DTM Legal named as proud sponsors! Co-founded by Dispute Resolution Solicitor Marena Mondair the Sportswoman’s Lunch not only celebrates women’s sporting achievements but also raises funds for charitable causes.
The 2023 Sportswoman’s Lunch
This year’s event is set to be the most illustrious to date, taking place at Anfield and hosted by LFC pitch-side announcer, Peter McDowall. The event’s guest speaker is local legend Katarina Johnson-Thompson. Katarina is a two-time Olympian competing as a Heptathlete at the London and Doha Olympic Games. Most recently KJT came out in first place at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and having spent the first 23 years of her life in Liverpool we can’t think of a better event to celebrate her success.
Katarina will be joined by 350 guests from the local business community. All of whom will be helping support the LFC Foundation with their attendance.
Charitable giving
In previous years the event has been able to support a range of charities including the Alder Hey Children’s Hospice, the Encephalitis Society, NSPCC, and most recently Marie Curie. Last year’s event was the most successful to date and raised a massive £20,250 for charity setting the bar high for 2023. With this year’s event hosting more attendees than ever before we are expecting to beat the previous total which is great news for the local communities that benefit from the LFC Foundation’s hard work.
A thanks to organisers
The Liverpool Sportswoman’s Lunch was originally organised by Clare Brookfield of Professional Liverpool, Marena Mondair of DTM Legal and Natalie Dye of Bathgate Business Finance. The three founders are now joined by a board that comprises Natalie Dickson of Brabners LLP, Lucy Shotter of Bibby Financial Services, Lynne Pierce of Flavell Wealth Management, Ruth Kirby & Louise Molloy of Natwest and Alice Gregan of Langtons. DTM Legal have been proud sponsors from the first year and we want to thank each organiser for their continued hard work.
Less than two weeks to go
This year’s event is just around the corner and tickets are all sold out! We look forward to Katarina’s speech and another great event benefiting the local community. More information about this year’s charity can be found on the Liverpool FC website.
