In order to provide the highest standard of work for our clients, we recruit the best people for the job, regardless of age, gender, ethnic origin, or other similar factors.
Every two years, the Solicitors Regulations Authority asks all law firms to take part in a diversity survey. Completion of the survey by individuals within firms is voluntary. In 2015, 53% of our workforce opted to take part in the survey. This year, 84% of staff have taken part, and we believe this is, in part, due to our approach to equality and diversity, with all staff receiving training in this area.
The following table shows the response rates of staff dependent upon their work role within the firm and the actual percentage of staff with those roles:
As the response rates closely match the actual make-up of the firm, we can be confident that no particular work role group are over/under represented in this survey. However, because some of these groups contain a small number of staff, we have chosen to publish our data as a whole, rather than broken down by work role, in order to preserve anonymity.
The data provided for the North West and England & Wales is from the 2015 data collection exercise. When the 2017 data is published, we will update these figures. Because the answers are voluntary some response rates may not add up to 100%.
