The firm, which is headquartered in Chester and employs 27 people there, said they had had a very encouraging first year and were now poised for further expansion.

The business is marking its first year in the city after celebrating its elevation in the Legal 500 list of top law firms in the region and increasing the number of its lawyers referenced from two to six . Two key staff have also been promoted.

Kate Roberts, who leads on Insolvency in Liverpool, has been made a Partner of the firm, and Tom Evans, a specialist employment lawyer, has been promoted to Associate.

Kate joined the firm in January this year and is a leading expert on the legal issues surrounding business recovery and insolvency. Tom, a former University of Liverpool graduate, specialises in employment law.

Partner, Jim Morris said: “The last 12 months has been a good period for DTM, posting our best financial performance to date and recruiting excellent quality lawyers.

“We are looking forward to continuing our strategy of growth across our offices in both Liverpool and Chester, maintaining existing relationships and forging new ones, and it’s great to be recognised by the Legal 500 for the quality of our work.”

The firm was founded six years ago in Chester and offers a full commercial service, supporting clients across the North West and North Wales and nationally.

Chief Executive, Mark Trousdale said:

“The promotion of two of the senior team is a consequence of our Liverpool growth across the full spectrum of legal advice on issues including corporate, commercial property, employment, intellectual property, business recovery and disputes.

“There’s no question that the legal market in the city region is in flux at the moment but such periods of change offer opportunities to new entrants in the marketplace.”

Mark added:

“We are finding an appetite with medium-sized companies which require the depth of expertise we can offer but also welcome the proactive approach we take to managing their affairs, helping them to foresee and deal with issues before they become costly problems.”
