DTM Legal LLP

Chester and Liverpool based DTM Legal has been recognised for its wide-ranging commercial expertise by the UK Legal 500. The growing commercial law firm has achieved a total of nine rankings, including a top tier award and three new entries, as well as 17 of its solicitors being recommended and one leading individual.

The latest edition of the leading guide to law firms in the UK, researched and written by an experienced team, provides buyers of legal services with a trusted overview of recommended law firms and individual specialists.

DTM Legal has been commended in seven different sectors of law by the annual directory, including: Corporate and Commercial in both Liverpool and elsewhere in the North West; Commercial Litigation in Liverpool and elsewhere, Employment, Insolvency, Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate, Real Estate and Construction.

The law firm has achieved the gold standard of top tier in Commercial Litigation for its work in Chester, where the team of Richard Thomas, Duncan McAllister and Guy Thomas, led by Jim Morris, are described as offering good response times, technical knowledge and good availability.

New entries include Corporate Commercial, Liverpool (Ed Barnes and Phil Whitehurst) and Commercial Litigation, Liverpool, as well as the Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate team, thanks to its ‘very professional service’ under the leadership of the ‘very approachable and knowledgeable’ Duncan McAllister, supported by ‘technically very competent’ associate Amanda Bailey. The Insolvency team has achieved a Legal 500 promotion with a move up a tier and a special mention for Kate Roberts.

In Employment, the firm is noted for its ‘realistic advice,’ with Alison Brennan, Duncan McAllister and Tom Evans all praised for their work with corporate clients.

Solicitors identified in the growing Real Estate team, where the service is ‘efficient, professional and always available’ include Head of Department Anna Duffy, noted for her experience in property disputes, and Sally Pilott, as well as Paul Makinson and Stephen Lunt, both previously of Slater & Gordon. Associates Michael Wright and Sue Elias are also recommended.

The Construction team, headed by Jim Morris in Liverpool and supported by Richard Harris, with Guy Thomas based in Chester, are also highlighted.

Partner Richard Thomas said: “DTM is delighted with the elevation of our various departments in this year’s Legal 500 Directory and it is great timing as we celebrate ten years of trading this month.

“Knowing these rankings are based on client and peer feedback makes them extremely relevant, and we are very grateful that our clients speak so highly of the individuals they work with at DTM. We are determined to improve our position year on year, and this year’s success only makes us hungrier for even more success next year.”
