DTM COMPLETES ON ANOTHER WIND FARM SALE

Mynydd Portref Wind Farm, located near Brynna in South Wales has been acquired by FIM Services. DTM Legal acted on behalf of Tegni Cymru Cyf (TCC) in the deal.

This is the second wind farm sold by TCC in the last eighteen months as the company realises its strategy to successfully take projects from initial identification, through planning, financing, construction and into operation. DTM Legal acted on their previous wind farm sale.

The sale of Mynydd Portref Wind Farm is a culmination of more than five years work which saw TCC receive planning permission from Rhondda Cynon Taf for the erection of 11 Wind Generating Turbines (WGTs). As part of the sale, TCC has proposed a community payment amounting to some £20,000 per annum as well as rent and access payments to four local landowners. Construction of the site is expected to commence imminently with turbines being commissioned early in 2012.

Huw Smallwood, Director at North Wales based TCC comments; “We are pleased to have sold to FIM services who have a track record of delivering successful projects within this sector. This sale moves us a step closer to achieving our aims and will enable us to develop further renewable energy opportunities.”

Ed Barnes, Partner at DTM Legal, comments: “The renewable sector is fast moving and enterprising and we are delighted to have acted for TCC in another of their successful sales.”

The expected output from Mynydd Portref Wind Farm is 21.6 GWh of renewable energy, sufficient to provide power to approximately 4,500 houses, saving 9,000 tonnes of C02 emissions for the equivalent generation from fossil fuels.
