We have recently met with Simon Berry and Carol Bolland who are both investment executives at FW Capital, the fund manager responsible for the £35 million North West Fund for Business Loans, which is part of the £170 million North West Fund.

Both Simon and Carol have had long careers in corporate banking and finance and, more importantly, are personable, approachable and are empowered to make lending decisions where the banks have already said “no”. As with any funding, there are criteria to be met but the criteria are transparent, logical and, where there is an element of subjectivity, we feel confident that Simon and Carol will adopt a common sense and positive approach.

FW Capital can provide stand-alone loans or supplement bank lending to make up a shortfall in required funds, perhaps due to the bank’s concern over the sufficiency of available security.

Loans are available of between £50,000 and £250,000, typically from 3.5 to 5 years at competitive commercial rates.
